Short links for email: know which link got the click.
Give every email, segment and button its own short link. You see what worked, and you can still fix a destination after the send.
What a short link adds to an email.
Clicks per link
Your email platform shows opens and total clicks. A short link per button tells you which one was clicked, and from where.
Fix mistakes after sending
A wrong destination in a sent email normally can't be fixed. With a short link you edit the destination and every copy already delivered follows it.
Readable plain text
A short link keeps plain-text emails and signatures tidy, instead of a 200-character tracking URL.
Consistent campaign data
Add UTM parameters once on the link and every click carries the same source, medium and campaign.
Compare segments
Use a separate link for each segment or A/B variant and read the results side by side.
Retire a campaign
Archive the link when the offer ends so old emails stop sending people to an expired page.
From UTM link to report in four steps.
Tag the destination
Build the page URL with source, medium and campaign in the UTM builder, or fill the UTM fields in the create form.
Shorten and name it
Create the short link with a clear title such as "May newsletter - hero button", and a tag for the campaign.
Send
Paste the short link into the button or text. One link per placement keeps the numbers readable.
Read the results
Open the link's statistics to see clicks by day, country, device and referrer.
Be careful with shared short domains.
Some mail filters are cautious about links on shared short domains, because spammers use them too. Keep the number of links in an email low, make the surrounding text clear about where the link goes, and use your own domain for important sends once it's available.
Opens and clicks counted by link scanners and privacy features can inflate numbers. Treat click counts as a trend, not an exact headcount.

Common questions
Will short links affect email deliverability? +
They can. Some filters treat links on shared short domains with more suspicion. Fewer links, a clear message and a domain you control all reduce the risk.
Can I change the destination after the email is sent? +
Yes. Edit the link in your dashboard and every email already delivered points to the new destination.
Should I shorten every link in an email? +
Only the ones you want to measure or may need to change. A plain link to your own site often doesn't need shortening.
Does it replace my email platform's click tracking? +
No, it complements it. The platform tracks per recipient. A short link gives you a view that is independent of the platform and works for any destination.
